After a career of more than 25 years, I left the Solvay group as Executive Vice President in order to look for new challenges.
Having worked as Finance Director for businesses with up to € 2 billion, as Head of Strategy and M&A, as Managing Director, as board member in different JVs and as Digitalization Champion, I cumulated a broad range of experiences.
While having business responsibilities on all continents, I spent most of my career outside Germany, f.e. in USA, Belgium, France, Bulgaria, South Korea, . . .
This allowed me not only to gain awareness of different cultures and different ways of business management, it also gave me deep insight in a variety of different chemical markets:
- Specialties (Agro, Electronics, Cosmetics, Polymers, Carbon, Guar, Fracking, …
- Commodities (Hydrogen Peroxide, Persalts, Soda Ash, Epoxy Resins, Fluorine, Calcium carbonate, Chlorine-based Products, …)
- Mining Industry (Fluorspar, Barium, Strontium, Salt, Limestone, …)
- Life Sciences (Peptides, Oleonucleotides, …)
During my career, I successfully negotiated a significant number of M&A projects with different global players of the chemical industry (BASF, DOW, DAIKIN, AIR LIQUIDE, AJINOMOTO, IMERYS, SINOCHEM, INVISTA, . . .).
Working in an international environment and in different cultural context was always an exciting experience. This experience – together with a deep understanding of the chemical industry – will allow you to be successful in your project – wherever it may be.
